New Visual Identity for State of the Art Stroke Rehabilitation Centre

A state-of-the-art stroke rehabilitation gym at Mexborough Montague Hospital is nearing completion, and with it comes a bold new visual identity created by Keane. The facility, named ‘The Phoenix Therapy Suite,’ reflects the transformative impact of the rehabilitation exercises it offers, helping patients rise and rebuild, much like a phoenix from the ashes.

Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Trust approached Keane to design a logo that would not only be visually striking but also symbolically rich. The brief called for a depiction of the complexity of the human brain, incorporating visual cues that reference neurons and synaptic connections—an acknowledgment of the critical role neuroplasticity plays in stroke recovery.

We worked closely with the clinical team to fully understand the suite’s purpose and the science behind the therapy. This collaboration ensured that the final design wasn’t just beautiful, but deeply connected to the clinical goals and ethos of the service. Keane provided a range of diverse concepts, allowing for open dialogue and iterative refinement. Through this process, we arrived at a finished logo that captured both the sophistication of the neurological system and the hopeful spirit of recovery.

By blending creative expertise with clinical insight, we delivered a meaningful and professional brand identity that will serve as a proud emblem for The Phoenix Therapy Suite and its life-changing work.
